Use a Lens Hood: Quick Tip

Lens hoods are fore more than just keeping out glare from your images. First of all, it is great at keeping sun glare at bay. If you are shooting in bright light when you are facing toward the light. The other great part of lens hoods is that they also protect the front of your lens while you are walking around. Instead of smashing the lens element into doors, counters, chairs, fences, and trees, the hood will be taking the hits without much damage. So go and grab a lens hood for your camera to help protect the lens and the photos you create.
