Today’s Favorite Photo – Farewell-to-Spring Petals

Farewell-to-Spring Petals     This is one of my most recent macro images. I took it while I was on a trip to Oregon. It was raining, and I was wandering around a flower garden in a park. There are two main reasons why I love this photo. The first is that it is so simple. It really shows the flower's colors, but keeps it simple and abstract. The other is that it happened to be a mistake. I as trying to take a photo of the center of the flower. Right as I took the image a gust and some more rain blew the flower to the side. It ended up working though because I was using a flash as my main light source. That is the reason that it is still sharp even though it was moving. I love it when images like this show up because they are so surprising. Sometimes mistakes, or chance, can bring about the most wonderful things.
