Channel Lapse, 2020

Every single color image we see can be broken into three channels: red, green, and blue. These three primary additive colors mix to create every hue. Not all images use these exact channels, but the human eye does. Physicist James Clerk Maxwell first suggested a tricolor method for creating color images in 1855, so this series builds off a long photographic history. For all photos in Channel Lapse, each individual color channel is deliberately captured at a different time and assembled to make a complete image. The result when combined is neither a falsehood nor absolute truth. It is simply another photographic representation of our world.
